Flamenco’s Next Generation
~ The Tradition Continues ~
Our Summer 2009 Season has concluded, but we are grateful to all who attended for their encouragement and support.
This summer, Flamenco’s Next Generation under the direction of Maria Benitez performed at The Lodge at Santa Fe (former Radisson Hotel) with weekly Sunday Matinees.
Performing an array of spectacular dances including Classical Spanish flamenco dance, “Jota”, a regional dance from Aragon, and excerpts from a zarzuela, a Spanish operetta. Accompanied by two musicians, a singer and a guitarist, this inspired company presents a program of impressive and captivating dance!

Internationally acclaimed as a performer, choreographer and director, Maria Benitez is recognized as one of the finest exponents in her field - Spanish dance and all that it embraces. Ms. Benitez is best known for the work of the company she and her husband Cecilio founded and direct - Maria Benitez Teatro Flamenco. With a long standing reputation for excellence, the company's history includes performances at festivals and major concert halls in all 50 states, Canada, Germany, Holland, Spain, Austria and 12- week summer seasons in Santa Fe, NM since the early 1970's.
